So a lot of people are asking how it went. I will say this… Chris had a total blast!
Something totally different for him. He loved it. We met a lot of great people too.
Fun stuff!
==================================
They had a nice dinner on Friday night, with about 200 people, and Chris was one
of their Guests of Honor. It was to bring more awareness to Spinal Cord Injury.
They had a raffle and we brought Chris’ Rally Bike to display. There were lots of
old, vintage bikes. Pretty cool stuff.
We headed to the beach Saturday morning and the wind wasn’t too bad but got
pretty bad in the afternoon. We were there all day on the beach watching races.
My niece and her friend came too. Here’s a little race re-cap:
Chris had the most awesome time ever! He is so happy. This is just what he needed to start doing again.
Saturday’s race: He was in the rear for the start – 4 rows so 12 UTV’s total. He came around the first lap in 2nd Place!
He stayed there until the last lap when he had a slight roll to the right side. His partner Eric had to get out and he and other course workers
pushed it back up and off they went. They ended up in 4th! So bummed though because the guy who was leading the
whole race (with paddle tires) broke on the last lap! So, they may have gotten 1st if they hadn’t rolled. Can’t wait to
see all the footage from the 3 mounted cameras!
Sunday’s race: Only 6 UTV’s showed up (because a lot broke on Sat) and Chris and my niece Amy (who raced with him)
took 2nd Place!! He said the course was really chewed up on Sunday from all the wind blowing the dirt around. My niece
loved it and had a great time. Fun stuff!
Here’s a few photos (attached)… I have tons more but I haven’t had time to download them yet.
